  • Estimating Insulation – By measuring a few temperatures and using this guide, you’ll be able to make an approximate assessment of the level of insulation provided by a wall or a window without having to tear it apart.
  • Heat Loss – Once you know a surfaces R-Value (insulation level), you can determine the amount of heat lost through that surface under certain conditions

Lighting

  • Lighting Requirements – Canada’s Occupational Health and Safety Regulations provide recommended and minimum lighting levels for different tasks and environments. These are provided in a table at the end of the linked page. Also included are directions on how lighting levels should be measured.
